Gardener Gayle

Evening lovelies, big hello to my new followers and my old ones too :) thank you!  This week it has been so beautiful in Aberdeen, every day has been around 26 degrees, with a heatwave like this in town I haven't been card making, but last night it wasn't so warm so I decided to finish off this card.  I am loving the Saturated Canary stamps.  My local craft shop now stock them ( lucky me, poor bank balance) anyway here she is ...

Stamp: Gardener Gayle, Saturated Canary// Papers: old stash// Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts//Feathers, Ribbon & pearls: Stash

I coloured her using distressed inks, I only have 6 colours at the moment so I mixed some together, I would have liked the colours to be a bit deeper but I am just learning to distress colour, so I am fairly happy with her for now.

Much Love

Exciting news!

Morning lovelies,

Monday is upon us again, a fresh new week and a whole new diet to start (will it ever end) anyway, I hope the sunshines for the rest of the week, I had a fab weekend spent in the sunshine with family BBQ-ing and playing on a huge trampoline!  Isn't the world just a better place when the sunshines?

ANWAY......My exciting news....

I put myself in for the chance to be a DT member with Sweet Stampin' a week or so a go, they were running a DT call and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be in with a chance.  I decided to put myself forward because although I've only just returned to crafting I wanted to have something to work to and to better my skills!  What dy'a know, I'VE BEEN SELECTED!

I am over the moon to be asked and selected to join the Sweet Stampin' team, I cannot wait to get my first card done for the challenge.  If you'r not aware of the Sweet Stampin' challenge blog already then hop on over there and check it out!  The challenges are FAB-U-LOUS!

Keep your peepers peeled for my first DT card coming soon!  So I just thought i'd share my news and fly the flag for Sweet Stampin'.  I am looking forward to visiting all the entries and finding fab new blogs to follow too!

HAPPY MONDAY xoxo

Much Love

Distressed Inks & a Haul

Evening All

No cards from me this evening sadly, but I thought I'd share with you a little image I coloured using distressed inks.  For many of you this is old news, I know, but I have been away from card making for over a year and so I am just getting to grips with things again.  I always used pro markers for colouring before but I have seen so many lovely cards that have been coloured with the distressed inks recently and I love how they look.  I only have about 6 colours at the moment but I will definitely be getting some more.  I've made a few boo-boos on this image but it was my first go at colouring with the inks, and I really liked the effect.  I love this image, isn't she super cute?

This is Ivy from Saturated Canary, you can download the digi HERE

I coloured her big slouchy socks a little bit too pink so it didn't really all blend in but it was good for practice.  I am needing some blue tones so if anyone can recommend the cheapest place to buy the distressed inks please let me know!

Last Friday I read on another blog that Dunelm Mill were getting rid of all their crafty goodies, so I hopped it down there to see what my local store had and I was delighted, I picked up these goodies . . .
There were only a few papers left but I really liked them, they are very vintagey looking, pale greens and blues, they were 14p each, winner!  I also picked up the mini shabby chic frames for 99p a pack.  I was delighted with them as they were originally £3.99 and were only suppose to be 50% off.  The ribbon and metal flowers were not reduced but I really wanted them so they fell into the basket too!

There wasn't much else left to be honest, there were a few paper stacks which I might go back and see if they still have but apart from that the shelves were empty.  Im a little sad they are clearing it all out, even though I hadn't crafted in a year I would still go along the craft aisle to see what they had, I actually just love collecting crafty goodies, and sometimes I don't want to use them because they look so lush in their packet.  Am I the only weirdo that thinks this??

Anyway it's super later, and I have an early start tomorrow so I am off to have a quick peek on Bloglovin and head to bed!

Much Love

Friday 5 July 2013

it's been a while!

It certainly has been a LONG while!  I cannot believe I have been AWOL for almost a year.  I got right back into the crafting before my wedding but then I got married and it's just been a whirlwind since.  I finally dug out my stash this week and gave all my goodies some much required love!  I hope you will all forgive me!

I noticed over on the Sweet Stamping Challenge blog that they are looking for DT members, I would LOVE this.  It would give me a challenge every week and a great excuse to really work on my crafting and help me improve, so this card is especially for this challenge.

The challenge this week is: NOT Cute

I dug out my Paris stamps which I have never used, I also found some old french script paper that I picked up in Dunelm Mill a few years ago and got to work.  I have added some embellishments, gems, ribbon and flowers.  I also found an Eiffel Tower charm in my embellishment box so I added this too.  I loved creating this card, it's good to be back!

Apologies for the lighting, I ended up putting the final touches to this, this evening in between watching the tennis, so I had to take these in the dark of night.

Much Love
