Distressed Inks & a Haul

Evening All

No cards from me this evening sadly, but I thought I'd share with you a little image I coloured using distressed inks.  For many of you this is old news, I know, but I have been away from card making for over a year and so I am just getting to grips with things again.  I always used pro markers for colouring before but I have seen so many lovely cards that have been coloured with the distressed inks recently and I love how they look.  I only have about 6 colours at the moment but I will definitely be getting some more.  I've made a few boo-boos on this image but it was my first go at colouring with the inks, and I really liked the effect.  I love this image, isn't she super cute?

This is Ivy from Saturated Canary, you can download the digi HERE

I coloured her big slouchy socks a little bit too pink so it didn't really all blend in but it was good for practice.  I am needing some blue tones so if anyone can recommend the cheapest place to buy the distressed inks please let me know!

Last Friday I read on another blog that Dunelm Mill were getting rid of all their crafty goodies, so I hopped it down there to see what my local store had and I was delighted, I picked up these goodies . . .
There were only a few papers left but I really liked them, they are very vintagey looking, pale greens and blues, they were 14p each, winner!  I also picked up the mini shabby chic frames for 99p a pack.  I was delighted with them as they were originally £3.99 and were only suppose to be 50% off.  The ribbon and metal flowers were not reduced but I really wanted them so they fell into the basket too!

There wasn't much else left to be honest, there were a few paper stacks which I might go back and see if they still have but apart from that the shelves were empty.  Im a little sad they are clearing it all out, even though I hadn't crafted in a year I would still go along the craft aisle to see what they had, I actually just love collecting crafty goodies, and sometimes I don't want to use them because they look so lush in their packet.  Am I the only weirdo that thinks this??

Anyway it's super later, and I have an early start tomorrow so I am off to have a quick peek on Bloglovin and head to bed!

Much Love
Kirsty

  1. Hi Kirsty, thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, so appreciated. It took me quite a while to get to grips with my DI's I'd had them for ages but once I got started I don't use anything else much now. Cheapest place I've found for individual markers are 'Art From The Heart' £2.25 each, and I use the watercolour coldpress paper.
